I am starting to close the rudder with plywood. The trailing edge is a balsa strip. |

Na, schon bemerkt was fehlt? Ja richtig, die Belüftungslöcher. Ich werde die vor dem Verschließen bohren. Wenn der Innenlack trocken ist, bereite ich die Balsaendleiste vor. |

Today Alex (my inspector) and Roman (my advisor) from the OUV visited me and the PIK tonight. OUV is the German counterpart to EAA in the U.S. They gave green lights to go on for covering the whole fuselage. |

Heute Abend haben mich Alex (mein Luftfahrtprüfer) und Roman (mein Gutachter) von der OUV besucht, zwecks Bauabnahme. Sie gaben mir grünes Licht den Rumpf jetzt dicht zu machen. |

May you also have already noticed that the top didn't match up properly so I decided today to fix that problem. I cut out the old top rib and installed a new one. |

Das hattet ihr bestimmt auch schon bemerkt, dass die Oberkante nicht gefluchtet hat. Deswegen habe ich heute die Abschlußrippe entfernt und durch eine neue ersetzt. |

Today I set up a mess. I was sanding the vertical tail and the full aft fuselage. No it is ready for covering. |

Heute habe ich richtig Staub produziert. Das Seitenleitwerk ist fertig ge-shaped und auch der hintere Rumpf ist komplett fertig zum Beplanken. |

Vielleicht etwas schlecht zu sehen, aber ich hoffe es kommt etwas rüber, was ich mit Staub meinte. Ich war über und über mit Staub bedeckt. Eigentlich schade, dass mein Gästebuch noch so leer ist und nur deutsche Viewer beinhaltet. |

I started to be a bit worried about glueing on the skins during wintertime when it is very dry. I have read a paper which reported about ugly bulbs in aircraft skins in summertime. Humidity in summertime expanded the plywood which resulted in these bulbs then. |

Ich bin jetzt etwas beunruhigt die Sperrholzbeplankung im Winter anzubringen. Im Winter ist es meist sehr trocken, was im Sommer, wenn das Sperrholz sich aufgrund der hohen Luftfeuchte ausdehnt, in Beulen der Beplankung endet. |

Also Panu answered my email that they have used a humidifier. So I decided to set up a simple test. I will measure the plywood every day (size and weight) to see what will happen. Do you have any information on this issue?? Please email me! |

Auch Panu hat auf meine email geantwortet, dass sie einen Luftbefeuchter benutzt haben, bis sie Schimmelprobleme bekommen haben. Ich habe beschlossen einen einfachen Test durchzuführen. Ich werde das Sperrholz jeden Tag messen (Gewicht und Abmaße). Habt ihr Erfahrung mit diesem Problem?? Bitte emailt mir! |

Before I start covering the rear fuselage I want to finish the horizontal tail first. I was lucky that my room has the space to put the stabilizer in. I always thought I would need the floor also because the stabilizer would protude into it. |

Bevor ich mit dem Beplanken des hinteren Rumpfes beginne, mache ich erst das Höhenleitwerk fertig. Ich bin froh, dass es in meinem kleinen Raum machbar ist. Zuerst dachte ich, ich müsse das Höhenleitwerk durch die Tür in den Flur ragen lassen. |

First thoughts about covering the tail. Mibboard it is 1.2mm plywood. I have to support the tail for accuracy. I will do this tomorrow. |

Heute hatten wir den 10.000 Besucher. Vielen Dank an alle, die dazu beigetragen haben. Zuerst wollte ich die obere Beplankung in einem step aufbringen. Habe mich dann aber doch entschlossen zuerst nur das Mittelstück zu verkleben. |

Today I visited RV Klaus. He will have his first flight soon. He is having all you need for solid riveting so we did my elevator hinges. |

Heute habe ich wieder RV Klaus besucht. Er wird bestimmt bald seinen Erstflug haben. Da er alles da hat zum Nieten, haben wir meine Höhenruder Scharniere genietet. |
